The Begin-ninning

3 teams enter. 1 team leaves.
Date of Show:

It's like Thunderdome, except with infinitely less Tina Turner. Ok, there might be a little Tina Turner.
Champion:
Babies Mit Bearden
Babies Mit Bearden is not only sort-of German for "Babies With Beards," but is also a four man long-form improv troupe (meaning they can hold poses for at least a half hour) out of Atlanta GA. They have performed together for the past eight years all over Atlanta and have appeared at the Atlanta Improv Festival, the Black Box Improv Festival, and the Chicago Improv Festival, which is not in Atlanta, but once you're inside the theater I guess it doesn't really make that much difference. As a founding team at JaCKPie Improv Theatre, they teach, coach, perform and just kind of stand around regularly at Relapse Theater.
Y'all ready for this? (Dun dun dun da da da da da dun dun dun dun) Anyways, but no seriously, are you ready for this? And by "this"* I mean the Legendary All Star Dropouts. Led by Matt Horgan and accompanied by Mike Schatz, who you might remember from a little show called "Aqua Team Hungry Fort", this team is rounded out in the most awesome manner possible by Amber Nash. *And also by "this" I mean some "scared straight" in-your-face non-passive-aggressive improv. Because that's the way we <strike> they </strike>roll. Will they emerge victorius? Will anyone actually be scared straight? Why do I keep asking rhetorical questions?
Challenger #2:
Old Lady Explosion
Science tells us that when two or more old ladies converge they often explode upon contact. But did you know that there is a second part of this phenomena that science has yet to explain? Rising from the ashes of said detonation: "Old Lady Explosion", a two-man improvisational force of scientific anomaly consisting of Matt Stanton and Rene Dellefont. Their improv is both fresh and smelling of mothballs. How can this be? Well, you're just going to have to show up and find out. There might be some free hard candy in it for you.
